vr is a tendie site, people should play the saturn more because it has good games
but since most of the faggots here are mutts nostalgiafag boomers who only know one console (that shall not be named) then most of the good stuff on saturn gets overlooked

Ya see op. This >>10305665 is why you just start talking about the game instead of asking why people don't talk about it enough. Although to answer your question when I tried to talk about this game before retards who refused to play with a controller derailed the thread by asking why it controls so badly with a keyboard and mouse

It's an interesting game, I need to go back and replay it again. I can't remember if I ever finished the 4th parallel. It's not nearly as fun as its spiritual predecessor (Landstalker). It stands out in that the Saturn is short on 3D platformer-type games and so that makes it appealing. Overall it has a weird, oneiric quality to the story and setting.
>>10305687
This, it's not particularly deep and never fully excels in the gameplay department. It's got something to it though; it's somewhat unique.

Lmao no it doesn't. Neither did SMS, PCE, or Xbox. Snoytendies have always had the best games with other consoles having maybe 2-3 games worth playing that still pale in comparison to mid level snoytendo games. The only halfway decent console Sega made was the Genesis and it's still utterly mogged by SNES in every way except for multiplats, sports and fighting games

It is pretty cool, although games with the isometric angle make me feel motion sickness. I'd suggest playing with the 3D pad so you can move the camera with the stick.

fun fact that this game is a post modern masterpiece in 1996. multiple parallel scenarios and unusual setting on prison island. criminally ignored. but you shouldnt be surprised, average gamer mutts dont care about sega. history only concerns the shallow perspective.

Somebody please tell me in 3d rpg scotformer games like this, when you turn around, why the fuk does your right arm become your left arm? It's some weird mirroring thing, but WHY?
Also, cool game but it seems like people get filtered hard by the puzzle platform areas, similar to Xenogears but without the random battles midjump kino. Just checked out a vid to look at the game again.

Played through it in January of this year and had real good fun with it. even made me want to 100% it to see all the endings.
Only problem I had with it was the bullshit platforming sections near the end.
I still think landstalker is the better game.

gaming identity is very tied to marketing. every edge top 100 games from true experts is just whichever ones were promoted very heavily (and to gamers, that makes it of the utmost importance). the other games, despite apparent quality, are not actually worthy of existing. see series like ultima or the arcade games that were buried despite 1000x more tangible influence than anything on home consoles. gaming historical discussion in the west is a distillation of crony marketing and not reality.

I haven't played deep into the game of it to give it a fair assessment. It was a clearance bin find and it plays alright. The perspective is weird, but pretty interesting for its oddity. My cousins and I thought it was hilarious with the "drunken" effect and the mine cart segment looking silly with a box-on-top-of-a-box one for the head and the hands/feet a texture on top of the lower+larger box; the jumping mine cart didn't help either for stopping the laughs. It is a Sega Saturn game plus bargain bin title in a sea of higher profile games which reduces its visibility significantly, so I don't expect many to have interest in the game.

Great Stalker sequel. I think it's on par with Alundra in presentation, but in execution beats the shit out of Alundra. I'll always play Climax games when I come across one, they have a unique feel like St!ng games.

The best thread was the one where some dude posted translations of the Dark Saviour radio play. Yes. There was a Dark Saviour radio play in Japan, some really fascinating deep lore. Was the entire game just Garian's recurring nightmare while he was frozen in Carbonite? Was Jack, the bird, the bad guy all along? Is the game like Inception, with Garian's needing to forgive himself to escape? Is there a hidden 5th parallel? This is one of those games that make me wish I was fluent in bladerunner speak and could datamine the game for it's secrets, because there is something deeply mysterious about it.

I love Dark Savior, very unique game. It's far from perfect, but there's a lot that's interesting about it.
>parallel system
>fighting game style battles
>capturing and controlling enemies
>isometric platforming and puzzle solving
>cool prison island setting
>mysterious story and atmosphere
Stuff like fighting game battles could've been fleshed out more.

Same, I feel like there's still something buried in it. Like until recently I had no idea you could capture a couple enemies early in fights using certain characters (BIOS against Doc is one example). Some stuff about capture mechanics was only posted about online recently as far as I know.

6th you mean (5th can be found by dying to Bilan in the intro), but I was always fascinated by the possibility. You can mess up in Parallel 2 by letting Kay die, which causes some weird things to happen until the game resets your progress. That's kinda like a secret Parallel.
