VF2 makes the sacrifices it does to render each character at 480i. The other games either run at 240p or double scanlines when rendering the 3D elements.

also, I have no idea why they didn't use an infinite floor in VF2, unless that was also an optimization measure
actually, Sega didn't like drawing the floor in Saturn games for some reason

and honestly, I think most of the issues with the SNES involved the fact that people knew what to do with the 68k more than they knew the 65c816, since even with the clock difference, their performance was comparable

first boss: use that zero-teleport attack on it to kill it ASAP, convert the enemy bullets into health if you get hit, you WILL time out if you do not do this

also, the game is almost entirely bosses, good luck!
