I'm doing the same.

It depends on how you use it, but I don't consider it cheating.

Old games had tons of bloat or back and forth. Save states are a great way to modernize weaker game design.

Why can Doom Guy run sanic fast but can't jump at all?

Seems really weird, you could make the argument his equipment weighs him down but surely if he's able to run that fucking fast he could achieve some kind of jump with that velocity.

This is why you shouldn't really use actor-based headshots, and instead ACS methods of determining hitscan/projectile impact through some maths. That method has been around for years, but nobody seems to use it.
