Does anyone know how to find the secret stage? These are the hints I've managed to come across (paraphrasing):
>"You have to do a sequence of events in a certain order. You should hear a chime if you do it right."
>"I think you must be playing on Normal or Hard. It doesn't unlock on Easy. Play Normal to be safe."
>"It's hinted in the manual." *points to Shir0*
>"It's in the Castlevania stage."
>Something vague about a dark area of the stage.
That should be all the revealed hints. As far as I've ascertained, it has to do with the Shir0 module you can optionally find near the middle of the stage, which goes away after you lose a life. A dark area of the stage can refer to the candles near the beginning, where you get the double-jump near the end, or both. Other than that, I'm at a loss.
