Well, actually the american art direction changed quite a lot of things for the first trilogy, can't say I like it, SaGa 3's american Borgin though, can't get enough of him.

The first game was pretty unique for its time in terms of setting, I really like it, but I'm also a fan of Hideki Kikuchi's idea of cyberpunk+fantasy elements which is what inspired SaGa's setting, so I'm pretty biased.

It's a pity they dropped the idea since Frontier, there's nothing quite like it.
