No mystery as to why kids like Mancubi; They're big, fat, soft, and therefore comfy to lay on.

Mancubus doesn't care. It's a really chill demon who will let kids use it as a gymnasium, while giving them incredibly bad health advice (they tend to rectify this though with the whole "gluttony demon, can't die by diabeetus, clogged arteries, heart diseases, etc." thing.

Cacodemons also don't care. They hardly even know they exist (caco in classic looks like he's in his own little world). Damned hell jellyfish-cats are too adorable.

I just figured Mort mellowed out dramatically as he grew up; but Billy was always a manchild; Mort felt some pity for his old enemy, and so hired him so he wouldn't be homeless. Billy's somewhat sad that he can't be Keen anymore; and that Mort and him don't have fights or battles in that context (mort grew out of the whole pretend thing, However, I interpret Commander Keen as a 50/50 thing. Everything is actually happening, but since he's a kid, it's greatly exaggerated. (Vorticons genuinely look like dog-people, but Keen's mind can't comprehend them fully yet, which is why they and every other thing in the series, is so skewed.
