Agreed. The use of sound is my favorite aspect of its design with its introduction of distinct enemy callouts when alerted, the way doors loudly open and add tension as enemies close in on you, and the way gunshots propagate through rooms to wake up some enemies but not others to allow for ambushes on unaware players. It's a very intense game as well despite its limitations because, although BJ can move at the speed of light to reposition and his shots stun every non-boss enemy, he's a glass cannon that can be melted in a second, so you have to stay focused at all times and bottleneck the more overwhelming encounters. It's simplicity betrays its unique style of combat, and it's so much fun. The last couple levels of Episode 6 really do it for me.
