Yes, that's exactly what they were doing. They were buying carts, in bulk, from SNK (under an exclusivity deal for some titles, as if it wasn't bad enough) and then removing and shredding the inserts to be replaced with their own reprinted NGF branded stuff, which they referred to as "corrected" inserts. The manuals that didn't get shredded and reprinted got anti-tamper NGF branded stickers slapped all over them to make sure they couldn't be put back to their original condition without defacing them.

I'm not sure where the confusion is coming from, but when I say "shredding" I don't mean that as hyperbole or as a euphemism for anything. I quite literally mean they were shredding official SNK products and replacing them with their own. We know this because they flat out told us they were doing so, and then proceeded to post extensive photographic proof of the claim on their website. All of that product is forever lost.

What ever happened to NGF?? As I understand it the only KOF 2000 carts that exist are NGF “branded”, correct?

What would you say takes the cake for some of the best retro gaming drama?

I’d still say Chad Dion Dakis and Chris Ray putting neo-geo inserts in the shredder forcing collectors to buy their “corrected” copies takes the cake unless I’m mistaken.

dude, they are seriously nuts, you have no idea. here's some neo geo fans shredding original box art so they can create their own and resell it to others. they literally bought every single copy of this game so people have no choice. they go along with it. it's a bunch of crazy, backstabbing, brown nosing shitheels.
