>Very nice! I don’t see people use those sort of buttons and sticks anymore for Fight sticks in my community, so they are very nostalgic and the stripes are dope.
I know the general community loves sanwa, and I respect that. I grew up in an american arcade, and the suzo-happ were the ones they had on every unit. I don't even dispute that sanwa are better, just because that is a horrible discussion to get into (Glock vs 1911/Sanwa vs Happ/Coke vs Pepsi). I love it, and anyone who doesn't is still good with me. The "artwork" is just a printed sheet of paper under the plexiglass, and I had to make it all in photoshop. It was very simple, but it took a while for perfection because I am an autist about art. They came out really well with a very dark stain, and are almost piano black. You can still see the wood grain, but it doesn't show on photos because of how reflective the finish is. Thanks anon!

>looks good, only thing I'd change it to have countersunk those screws
They are flat-backed "pan head screws". I actually wanted them to stick out. I could always go back and change them out, but It was what I had on hand, and I personally like the look. It was my first time building an arcade stick, so I didn't even know what I was doing other than using up random materials.

>i didnt have room for two rows of 3's for the buttons.
Is it too late to make the control panel wider? It could be done if you cut up the sides a bit. Otherwise I would have stayed course on a 1player unit. However, it is smart to have the panel be interchangeable. Once you figure out that she probably doesn't want to play it and was just being a woman, you can easily swap a 1 player setup in. If I were you, I would also make a 1p setup while you have the tools out. Is that for a 14" monitor? Either way it looks good!

And yes, woodcrafts get heavy. MDF might as well be made from steel. My sticks are only 9" wide overall and 11-1/2" wide but they are still pretty beefy.

This year I was planning on building a standup 2 player unit. I haven't decided if I will use the MVS and just make a Neo Geo, or go the mame route. Honestly I could get a MvC2 board and be content with just that as well.
