>PS1 version is effectively an early and incomplete build of the game.
Holy shit, fuck off with this nonsense. It's the Saturnfags who collectively oversold Cutman and Woodman like they're the second cuming and cured their cancer. The content difference isn't going to turn a 7/10 game into 700/10 like they'd have you believe. Every single time I see discourse on version differences it's always about how those two nostalgia-pandering blockheads suddenly transform the whole of the game experience and transcend the game into the top percent of the franchise. No, screw you, I already conquered them several games ago, if I wanted shitty distilled rematches I'd play the Gameboy games. It's not, and never, will change your overall view on the game. If most people prefer quality over quantity in their games, let them enjoy it in peace

Not him but that's fantasyland bullshit

>And I assume Capcom made MM9 NES-like due to fan response. Maybe that's evidence that you can't just listen to the hardcore fans.
MM9 came at the right time, and while it's been a while since I touched it, I remember that it was easily within my top three of the classic series. MM10 was where the fatigue set in for me, but I did replay MM9 after beating MM10 and think that MM10 was missing something I couldn't just quite put my finger on.

>That's because the 8 Bit brigade aka MM2/3 fanatics were trashing 7/8 for no BS reasons.
This is kinda true. Many of the 8-bit diehards (not all but possibly most) didn't give MM7 or MM8 a fair shake just for being different.
>those games (and 4, 5, 6) got reexamined in recent years by people who played them all through emulation/collections and everyone's starting to realize those people were full of shit.
And this is the part where your reality becomes fanfic territory. Sorry but only MM5 sucked the big one, most of the classic series games can still be enjoyed on their own merits. Let's just say sales of the Legacy Collection 2s were't carried by the (perceived or not) lesser games of the series.

Honestly, Occam's razor tells me this was just a typo that got out of hand, unless the website details really do exist (hint, hint).

>I guess they ran out of time to make a new theme
Yeah that always bothered me, but if true, this makes replacing the Tengu Man stage theme even stranger. They could've just composed a new theme for the Duo stage and left Tengu Man alone. I have the feeling Capcom had the alternate Tengu Man song lying around and just replaced it last minute because they thought it was more suitable for the shooting sections. Saturn Aqua Man is pretty much an objective improvement though, and I'd argue Wily Stage 2 as well due to the richer flute sample (even if it doesn't quite match the tempo), but yeah iirc other tracks like Boss, Grenade and and Search Man don't really sound right on Saturn.
Boss Character Postcard was an underrated part of the Saturn version that should've been preserved in the Legacy Collection , but yes overall fans overvalue the Saturn version a bit too much and act like it makes or breaks the game when that isn't true.

>There's 8-bit 7, 8, and now Rockman & Forte.
Why hasn't anyone made 8-bit Wily Tower?

1 they made several QOL improvements like fall speed, "spike bug" and water buoyancy (which weirdy enough not even Powered Up picked up on), 2 is decent yet straightforward conversion, 3 feels worse and is somehow somewhat buggier, but Wily Tower is fucking legendary despite its short length. I would play Mega World / Wily Wars for that nugget alone. If you're emulating, no reason not to just pick up a save file/state from somewhere like Dr. Cossack's Lab or Zophar's Domain. Also have to add that 1's pause trick and 3's 2nd controller commands were removed and all three games have slowdown where there wasn't any on NES, though considering this really kicks in during Yellow Devil and Quick Man, maybe this is a blessing in disguise?
