I don't have a GB or GBA flashcart, and certainly don't have a actual copy of Shantae. It runs great with via the Gambatte core.

I will say, 1080p does do some weird shit with both the Megaview and my Sony PC CRT; I can't get the latter to accept it properly, and you get some really strange shit going on at the refresh it will accept it at ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfY5DKt2hps ) and while the former will technically sync and display a 1080p signal, it sure as hell doesn't like it, and you get wild artifacting all over the place along with the image being dark and distorted.
I haven't had a chance to try 1440x1080, so it may just be a problem with the horizontal resolution.
1280x720 is fine on both monitors, aside from getting the aspect ratio right.
I honestly can't remember if the Splatoon (and Wind Waker HD) photos I took were of it running in 720p or 1080i, but both looked absolutely fine on it.

Did some fucking around with the Gamecube, which the monitor saw as a 640x480 signal. I put a bit of video together, but it'll be a little while before it's processed and all that: https://youtu.be/UiY60QotxMU

Might move the PS3 over and try messing around with it in a bit to see how it handles 720p/1080i (and maybe p).
