There's different viewpoints in this hobby. Some people would like to experience it the way they did as a child, so they get a regular consumer TV and play using composite or RF cables cause it's how they played the games when they were younger. Some people would still like an authentic consumer experience but want to experience it in a way they didn't realize was possible when they were younger, so they get a much nicer consumer TV and play games with s-video or component. Then there's some who want to play the game with the highest quality video signal and display possible so they go all out on RGB and get a professional monitor or RGB mod a consumer set. And of course there's people like me who simply want to play the games but appreciate the nature of a CRT so we use a PC monitor and emulate them with shaders or low resolution tricks like 1920x240.

None of them are wrong, it's all just different ways to enjoy the experience. I do think it's important that people make an effort to learn what their options are and make an informed decision of how they want to play their retro games though, instead of just blindly listening to others. But if you try to enforce your opinions on others and say that your way is objectively better than another, that right there is brain damage. That's a big red flag that shows others that you're not very mature and could probably do with getting out more often and talking to real people so you're not so anti-social. I get that a lot of it is shitposting but there's definitely some people in this hobby who take it far too seriously and are quite serious about their opinions being the only right one. That's my take on it anyways. Play nice and respect others, you fucking niggers.
