I mean SOTN was supposed to be considered a spin off of the series. In Japan it's like a spinoff direct sequel to Rondo of Blood, which is why it's called Akumajo Dracula X: Gekka no Yasokyoku, in Japan. Calling it Dracula X let people know it was part of a duology of Dracula X, the first being Dracula X: Chi no Rondo. But then it kinda just ended up informing the way the rest of the series should be designed.
