The future of retro gaming is gonna be subscription based (mediocre) emulation service in the cloud because that's the future of video games and currently existing hardware isn't gonna last forever. Not even FPGA can save us, eventually enough people will move to the "you will own nothing" model and be happy that nobody will bother making hardware you can buy. Also IQ is dropping at an alarming rate around the world, zoomers are basically 80 IQ now and it's not getting any better. Eventually nobody will be left with motivation and brainpower to tinker with old stuff or try to make it work on new technology.

And I'm not really talking about in 10 years but how things will be in 50 or 60 years from now, shit I already see it happening in 2041.
