Am I the only one here who just can not get into Quake? I love the shit out of doom. I've played countless hours of custom wads on vanilla set ups and source ports....but I just can not fucking get into this game

I don't know what it is. Maybe the visuals aren't as charming? I certainly don't like the atmosphere as much, but I feel like its deeper than that

I'm so pissed off I didn't understand this game as a kid. I could have had nearly 20 years of Quake gameplay under my belt. I could have been a fucking god at this game. I've finally gotten into it just when they casualised the fuck out of Quake Live and pretty much killed it. Feels bad.

It's funny how I played a lot of Quake 2 SP growing up though. I loved that as a kid, especially the soundtrack. Now I prefer Quake 1 a million times over than Quake 2.
