Cause it's a shit fucking tapeworm show. They took a great sci fi movie with moderate exposition, good actors and a good conclusive ending to the whole story and turned it into a trekkie-like, fandom-milking overexposed and loreheavy, trash actor filled cheesy ass overly long tv series.
I'd maybe play a wad/old game based on the OG stargate movie cause that's a really good and conclusive story - it would fit the retro fps formula, something like Powerslave/Exhumed - anything based on the tv series would be trash at worst and a curiosity at best
