How much of a difference is there between component and rgb? I've got a decent pvm, but SNES shit is too expensive. Just gonna put homebrew on an old wii I've got laying around and hook it up with component.

Are gold plated component cables better than silver plated ones?

Are there any RGBHV (VGA) to YPbPr (Component) transcoders I can get for cheap? I'm looking for a transcoder, not a converter.

Transcoders have no scaling, and no input lag, whereas converters have both of those problems.

I'm can also make one myself, as I'm fairly good at soldering, but I can't find the chips that the schematics call for. I'd prefer a premade solution though.
