/vr/ - Retro Games

Theoretically they both made good looking and terrible looking games, art design is not as constrained by technical specifications as you might imagine. Style is often a positively contributing factor especially when it plays to the hardware's strengths. I'm gonna go play some JSR and Psychonauts now.

Does anyone else think consoles should be able to combine and link up? Like say you have a dreamcast and a ps2 you should be able to link them up and then play dreamcast games with a ps2 controller and have the video output through the ps2 so there's less cable management.

Still using burns with the OPL patch, I have a shitton of old DVDs lying around and that's easier than trying the ethernet shit...I want to check it out someday so I can save the laser and play games larger than 5 gb but my technical know-how is almost 0; still don't know what kind of cable to get. Mostly been playing FFX for the billionth time and fucking around with weird out-of-region shit like Maken Shao and that .Hack MMO. Makes me wish there was a PS2 private server for FFXI.

I remember checking out some of the PS1 compatibility charts for burned disks, but it seemed like a ton of work for not much reward; duckstation works almost too well to justify it. I don't remember much of what I read though, so take it with a grain of salt and all that.
