No, I'm saying that a particular person's definition of retro never changes. There's not objective unviersal retro. It's entirely subjective.

Therefore, it's not an argument about "what is retro" but rather 'whose 'retro' are we going to discuss?"

People in their 20s, 30s, 40s all have different definitions of retro that won't ever change for those particular definitions. My own personal retro ends with the 5th gen because I was born in 1985. Is /vr/ about MY retro? That's the only thing that can be discussed objectively.

It is because most of us are 30+ here and, for us, PS2 is not retro and will NEVER be. It's not about time passing, it's about us leaving. Until most of us have left /vr/ for whatever reason (whenever that happens), Devil May Cry, God of War and Halo will never be considered "retro", because to our generation the very idea is fucking laughable.
(Posting tits to attract stray /v/irgins so they would read this and finally understand.)
