Linear interpolation looks like wank. With your phone you have the luxury of a significantly larger resolution than a 3DS: you can do an (at least) 3x integer scale and finally do linear interpolation to fill the screen. Filling the screen isn't even an issue on OLED's since the blacks look like part of the bezel, so you could skip the final linear interpolation step if you wanted. Alternatively, your phone's screen also has enough pixel real estate for a convincing DS LCD shader.
I'm guessing you mention the Galaxy Note because it comes with a stylus, but you can get generic styli for any Android device for cheap.
