How exactly does that make it look good? Reality check: B movies aren't made by multibillion dollar companies. SA1 was one of the most expensive games ever made on release, and intended to be a launch title for a next gen console - that isn't a B movie.

-Sonic Adventure was the 2nd most expensive games ever made at the time of release
-Despite this, every single sane person can clearly see that Mario 64 is vastly better, and SA is a cringey jank piece of crap

It's not supposed to be a beta. It's supposed to be an advanced polished next-gen game. How can you not believe that Sonic Adventure 1 had the 2nd biggest budget of any game at the time of its release?
