If you have the money and the eyes, go for the rp2s. If you want the cheapest thing, get the miyoo mini plus, or even the r36s. I think the rg35xx h is usually cheap at aliexpress. I think the best value for money is the trimui smart pro.

They are also improving vulkan as we speak. But it depends on what you mean by "newbie entry". Is it a matter of money or software?
