Should i buy a PSX Fat or Slim?

purely game catalog wise i'd say it's the PSOne for me, excluding downwards compatibility and shit.
The games on that thing feel like actual video games. And every game has it's own distinct characteristics so barely anything resembles the other. My big master plan is locking every developer on this earth in a basement for one whole month with nothing but PSOne games to play. Maybe they will realize that way how terrible their modern games are.

Someone go back in time and tell this guy that no one knew the PS1 was the PS1 until the PS2 came out.

And we quit calling the PSX the PS1 after the PS1 remodel came out, which was called the PS1

Formally:
OG Model = PSX

Remodel = PS1

Is it easy/inexpensive to mod a US PlayStation to play Japanese games or am I just better off getting an actual Japanese PlayStation?

Are there any PS1 games that don't work on a PSone? I heard it had a redesigned BIOS and some other hardware changes that interfered with some games that otherwise play fine on the old PS1.

I have a PSOne that boots and everything but that when you put in a disc it spins for 2-3 seconds and then stops with a click.
The laser assembly itself is fine because it works when transplanted to a fat PSX.
Any ideas?

I keep on hearing Japan has a nostalgia hard-on for the Famicom and PS1 over other consoles. Why?

I need some help guys, I bought a malfunctioning Psone (disc doesn't spin probably because the "closed tray" button doesn't register or something, I want to slap it onto a 900x PS1 because that one doesn't also read CDs because the plastic holding those metal spheres wore off and two of them broke free, and aren't really adjustable anymore (one even fell inside the lens workspace, whoops).

Since I'm a total mess with electronics, and I don't have too much experience on how to handle ribbon cables and the like, can someone point or explain step by step what do I have to buy/do in order to get the new disc unit inside the old PS1? I don't even know how to take the damned cables off and I'm scared I will only damage both.

Best console WRPG? I'm talking about PS1 and earlier consoles (SNES, Mega Drive, etc).

The games i burn for this don't run correctly if at all.

I have a way of swapping the disk, but then the games either

don't get past thier loading screen

have musical bugs like skipping

the movie intros stutter

or they flat out do not work.

So i wanted to ask, where is the best place i can go to fine reliable PSX files to burn to CD? What is the best format to look for? The slowest my burner can go is 10x is that okay? i am using verbatim discs made in Taiwan.

So I'm thinking about getting a PlayStation 1 soon, but what is the difference between the brick version and the slim version.
