/vr/ - Retro Games

What's the best way to play a ps1 on a crt nowadays assuming you don't have a console or intend to buy any of the games? I'd like to figure out something to hook up to my pvm. Emulating and hooking up my pc to it seems like a pain in the ass.

Raspberry Pi?
Modded ps3?
Ps1 classic via usb? (I'm assuming you'd have to use so sort of hdmi to s video or composite converter or something)
Ps2 via popstarter?
Emulation via homebrew on my Wii?

Is a 20" PVM worth it over a 14"? I've currentley got a 14m2u, and while nice, I'm thinking about getting something a bit larger.

Biggest pain in the ass is that I live in literally the middle of nowhere Wyoming so I'm at the mercy of ebay and shitty packaging unless I drive 6 hours to Denver and even then shit is still hard to find.

Why people say "but da n64 has no gaems XD" is beyond me.

I searched for this for 20 years

-NES
-You play as a young man (maybe a child)
-Very Zelda-2-esqe
-You run around a world all Zelda2/Castlevasnia2 side-scrolling style and even enter little castles/dungeons, find keys, etc.
-The sticker/cover of the game also had the main character fighting a snake, which was a regular baddy in the game.

I asked this on /v/ a while ago and they were completely baffled, but many put a lot of effort into guessing! They were all wrong, but eventually I discovered what it was by myself, but I would like to see if any of you can get this. Can you guess what it is /vr/, and why I laughed when I found it?
