it "failed" because of bad jap pandering adventure era games being broken dogshit, zoomer. Literally before SA1, Sonic was more popular than both Mario AND Mickey Mouse to children. Back shit games for 2 decades and see how long your good press stays up. Sonic luckily don't have apes ready to lap up dogshit for IPs that should do much better, like Pokemon for example. Mario at least has 9/10 games for 35 years straight .

Because they hated Gaijins so bad they just wanted them to rot as glorious Nippon make Sonniku look superior by them.
