Here is a cracked version of JACK 1.1.2800. It is more stable and fixes a lot of serious bugs in the free version. It is also completely disconnected from Steam, no need to have Steam running.

Important, go to Tools -> Options -> Misc -> and under Steam Cloud uncheck Enable remote storage. You're set to go.

I highly advise against the free version of JACK, it has a very serious issue when it comes to saving texture alignments. Instead, use this cracked version dubbed "Cracker Jack" from 2021. It fixes many issues, adds in important features and most special of all, separates itself from Steam.

Make sure that when you first launch it and set it up, go to the misc tab in the options menu and UNCHECK enable remote storage, otherwise JACK will try to communicate with Steam, fail, and crash.
