undeniably the weakest of the 6 but it's understandable. Didn't have the 8 robot masters, score system, physics are fucked, getting instantly killed by spikes even if you have invincibility frames is cheap.

a true refinement. Bigger and more levels, better music, gameplay was fixed up, Metal Blade is badass
>MM3
my personal favorite despite its flaws. Sprite flicker and slowdown are a dealbreaker for most people. Doc robot stages were cool, Dr. Wily's castle in 3 is probably the shortest in the series. Also, best Rush jet in the series
>MM4
the easiest in the series, some decent special weapons(Pharaoh and Bright), levels had a good length to them, and just keep that mega buster charged at all times.
>MM5
is the most annoying with all the gimmick levels. Levels feel short, but slower because of the auto-scrolling stages. Has the best Dr. Wily castle theme
>MM6
one of the best-looking games on the NES, level layouts were great, getting the Beat parts by fighting the 4 "true" robot masters was cool. I think this came out after MMX, which is wild. I'm pretty sure I got both games in the same year.
