Pretty good, although a bit different from the rest of the series due to some mechanical differences like CPUs being a proprietary part that can't be swapped, you use chips instead to customize the base CPU.
Some other optional parts like air conditioners do not exist due to the actual poison mechanics being changed, same with things like burn or freeze stats, they do not exist in Xeno, same with other things like lead mushrooms.

For evertyhing else, it's pretty much on the same level as 2R/4, a bit better for some things since you can now mass produce tanks when you get the blueprints and have enough materials, so you can have a team of three red wolves if you want, which is nice.
Due to the game being linear though, do not expect the amount of fuckery you can do in other games, the upgrade routes are pretty much completely linear, which brings the general gameplay down compared to other games.

The tanks themselves are pretty great though.
