I agree doom has the better enemy roster and weapon lineup, but i still enjoy quakes - and quake has the GL, the best RL and better movement.
AD improves the quake weapon lineup, especially the shotguns.

The discussion is long over, but I gotta agree with the one anon about Sonic Mayhem's Q1 OST: They're very much underdeveloped (of course because it's a demo). Whereas Reznor's stuff knows exactly what it's doing. If SM had made a full OST, it might've been good. As it stands, Q1's OST is 10/10.

There's a website called celephais.net that's primarily about Q1 mapping. One of the resident Quake II anons here has a grudge against their output post-Arcane Dimensions because most of their mappacks jerk it off, which is semi-reasonable, and apparently they've hated 4chan or something. I just enjoy Quake and they put out mappacks with incredible regularity so yeah. They've also helped me a lot with mapping.

Just finished Quake 2 The Reckoning. Better than the base game as it is shorter and has more variety. The last hub with the plethora of Gladiator Betas is annoying and definitely my least favorite part of the expansion. Finally done with Quake 2, well except Ground Zeros fuck those turrets. Would like to see something like Arcane Dimensions for the game but that is wishful thinking.

Just finished Quake 1. Goddamn, what a ride. My favorite episode was definitely E4. I think my favorite level out of the whole game might have been E4M4. I wanna buy whoever made that map a beer. It was goddamn cool.
