I'd go for s-video.

It's pretty great, actually. RGB is indeed a little better usually (depends on the console), but s-video gets a bad rap.

Don't knock them. They make a decent product occasionally.

I don't use their products, but they do make good panels for a lot of other companies, and even made good CRTs for other companies at one point.

Everyone in this circlejerk loves sony, so have a decent sony one.

I don't have a photo of it with my genesis, but here's a 240p optimized CRT - Apple IIe composite monitor.

Thanks. Did you remember them? Been a while since I posted any.

Have my old favorite.

You're lucky - I never had a //gs monitor.

I had a //e monitor and still do to this day. This one's composite only.

my childhood //e monitor. Wish I still had the //e for it, but it was technically my family's, and they junked it while I was in college.

NES games look better on it IMO.

there are rare (or less common at least) top loaders that do have AV output. But all the ones I've seen in person are RF only.

Apparently there is also a revision of top loader with better RF output (jailbar reduction). I've not seen this either, but I have been told by people in the nesdev community that they do in fact exist as well.

You can mod the top loader for composite out, same as the original famicom (which is also RF only). I've done it to both.

Pictured: AV modded original famicom connected to Apple IIe composite monitor.

...and a special video card?
Damn, people. If you can't deal with the SNES version for some reason, you need to DEAL WITH it not having scanlines... not spend hundreds of dollars...

Old pic, but going to sleep now and you all have had enough pics of my 20L5 for a long time.
