When did you grow out of JRPGs?

I did in 2011 when some /v/tard recommended this to me and I realized JRPGs are for teenagers and children.

It's not even the best game in the series LMAO

Quite a step up from Radical Dreamers

This was without a doubt the best 3d jrpg to come out on ps1. The only complaints I see people crying about are.

Combat was actually a nice change and very different from what other jrpgs were doing.

Over all it was a great game filled with a ton of detail. Sadly Chrono Trigger fans got butt hurt all their pals are confirmed dead.

Do any other RPGs have as good a battle system as pic related? I recently played Chrono Cross and now I'm sitting here wondering why more games didn't copy/build upon this style, because it holds up rather well even in the face of modern RPGs.

Any of you anons had any experience emulating this on the PSP? I just started it and the framerate seems a bit sluggish, I dont know how it runs on an original PS1 but It doesnt feel right. I was playing the PSN eboot.

seems I could make an eboot myself but I see postings of people who had the game crash on them on the intro on when swapping discs, I dont know if I should just try emulating it on my PC but I would like to have the game portable without having to resort to my phone.

What does /vr/ think of this game? I got it recently for cheap and it seems decent. The elements system seems like it might have its flaws but the music, setting, and premise are pretty interesting. Thoughts?

Hey guys, which rpg should I play next for ps1? I have xenogears, chrono cross, ff viii and ff ix, and parasite eve 1 and 2. These are all rpg's I've never played before. Want a bit of a challenge and also a great story / atmosphere. Which one would you guys recommend of these? I usually only play a couple jrpg's a year since they take so long to beat.
