YES. I've got a backlit-modded DMG, and an AGS-101 SP, but I've just recently bought an IPS-modded GameBoy Color because the form-factor is more comfortable for me, and I hate the cartridge sticking out in the GBA.

A flash cart is a must, even if you own and want to buy originals, because of the ROM hacks you can play that fix and improve games! Also save states are useful for being able to pick up and put down a game at any time without having to rely on password systems and save-locations; it save states aren't just for save-scumming :P

Don't listen to the emulator people, and I say that as a person who uses a PSP and an RG350. Some systems feel better emulated on other hardware, and some systems feel better on original hardware. I'm the kind of person who is willing to own multiple systems, both original and new hardware, and pick and choose what feels comfortable for me. GameBoy emulation is not so good because of the smaller than usual screen size and the fact that emulator systems are yet more steps to jump through just to start playing. I like the instant-on of most original hardware.
