How did Ocarina of time become the recognized GOAT instead of Final Fantasy 7?

>FF7 came out earlier than OOT
>best pacing of any videogame i have ever played
>had a more in depth plot with deeper characters
>had better graphics
>had better music
>had full motion video
>extremely charming characters with amazing dialogue
>had to be on THREE Fucking discs

It just seems like a better overall package than OOT. How did OOT become the most widely recognized GOAT its not even 50/50. Ocarina of time has the water temple. There is no equivalent to the water temple in FF7 because the game is well paced.
