What is the best version of DOOM?

The first person shooter duology that started it all, and still hasn't been topped by anyone yet.

More depth that you can shake a stick at, with an almost infinite supply of custom maps and mods.

now that the issue of violence in video games is back (again), what is /vr/'s stance? you know eric harris trained on this ultra-realistic game called DOOM to prepare for the shooting

Hi /vr/, I'm looking for a couple of old PC games I remember playing around the year 2005.

They were all on this old website and could be downloaded from there. They weren't flash games, they were executables (I think.) I distinctly remember three games. They were all first person, I can't remember if they were shooters or not, but I think they were.

The first one took place in this old abandoned city, which was inhabited by these mutants. I kind of remember them having like robes or something, and heads with tentacles. Think humanoid cthulhus. At the end of the game, you make it to this cabin, and it's filled with these mutants, and you die. Throughout the game you find notes, maybe pieces of a diary, that acted like clues.

The second one took placed in an old house. The enemies were these green ghosts in dresses, with wild hair. They were female, I remember. I think you shot them? I don't remember. Raycaster graphics, I think.

The last one I just remember was "Dracula's Castle" or something to that tune. I remember it didn't work and took a long time to download.
