It would be one thing if it were a server centered around a project and everyone in it was there to work on it, but when you have to join anything that is just open to the public or trying to be a """community""" you will quickly find yourself wading through a human minefield in which increasingly little actually gets accomplished - due in large part to the ego impacts of ball washing and/or obsessive critique by non-contributing members.
It's not unlike when a niche hobby forum introduced an 'off-topic' section and drama immediately flares up. Without something like a business structure to tard wrangle people into place (i.e. the direct and obvious threat to your income should you be a fag) you really need to just put blinders on people - especially when they're coming from every autistic corner of the internet imaginable.
