Here's a quick rundown:

>Headed by Victor Ireland, a no-nonsense gamer who actually cared about the consumer
>Hilarious and topical contemporary references in their translations

New games cost money and I need money. Also I typically can find something on a emulator or a download of some pc game that keeps me entertained. Only new console I own is a 3ds, everything else I have is sixth gen or older.

Also new games appeal to a larger, casual crowd. I get they need money but having my hand held is terrible. Even in something like kirby I have more freedom then in some ofvthe stuff today.

/vr/ came into existence a week after the girl i thought i was going to marry dumped me out of nowhere. i also was basically laid off a week after that, going from 60 hours a week to 8. /vr/helped me kill time that if otherwise hadn't been occupied would probably have ended with a gun in my mouth. Now I've got a better job and i don't care anymore about things that happened to me i still come here all the time. even weeks i don't have time to play games i still lurk and post. this board has the best community of any board I've ever been involved with. it's own odd sense of humor and family, being that this is an odd niche that most people don't get or pretend to get because in their minds it makes them look cool. Even heated threads don't usually result in "you're a retarded autistic faggot virgin shitposting troll" aside from a few here there. It's a wonderful board full of odd humor, feels, and colorful discussion.
