Try Grim Dawn, it is very Diablo-esque with satisfying combat and a lot of variety when it comes to builds. As the name implies it is quite grim dark and demonic/eldritch like Diablo. Multiplayer is great with friends..

It was made by a dev group with a lot of the former Iron Lore Entertainment employees who worked on the action rpg rival of Diablo, Titan Quest.

If you do decide on it, make sure you tick veteran difficulty, it increases the monster count and they hit harder, the first act is a bit of a snoozefest without vet ticked.
