The first time I played through it, I liked it. The second time I went through it, I REALLY liked it. I've also come to accept I'm not good at finding secrets in Doom and absolutely not in Quake, so I mostly regard them as a "new game plus" sort of thing. I'll work with other players and playthroughs to find the secrets I couldn't.
