the fuck is that
>The slick Apple crap
I never said anything about "slick apple crap"
"Slick" does not mean "curves all over the place"

In reality seams, visible joints and material transitions are potential weakness points, and would be eventually eliminated in the refinement of the design, resulting in an armor that covers every angle with equal amount of protection while having as litle seams as possible (preferrably none).
Imagine something like picrelated modern armor, but made entirely out of flexible metal.

However generic sci-fi usually attempts to pronounce tech advancement as "extra complexity" and so they pile on extra parts, joints, seams and knickacks allover the place, which ends up looking overdesigned, which is the reason why Praetor Suit looks like it does.

What I tried to convey is that straight surface is simpler and cheaper to manufacture from industrial standpoint than a curved one, thus in every place where the curvature is suficiently low, it would be made into a flat surface instead, namely parts of the leg, shoulder, chest, and back areas, resulting in slightly pronounced angular transitions between curved and flat surfaces, which would be made more noticable due to being in contrast to overall seamless design.
