I upgraded. But true rumble is still mostly a product of the subwoofer. Best 20 bucks I ever spent.

The glow up since I got married and moved out. Always makes me sad when people talk about how their wives/girlfriends won't let them own CRTs.

>Your equipment is heavy (including your shelves of games) so don’t buy ikea shit, go to a secondhand store and buy real wood furniture
You don't HAVE to, though. Just be mindful of weight limits and use your own judgement when looking at how the supports are positioned, since most stands can hold more than they're rated for. I've had this setup on this stand (bottom pic) for well over a year, and despite being slightly over the weight limit, there isn't any bowing at all, but I also added the riser for the monitor so the weight is positioned directly over the supports for the shelf below. I often play with my feet up on the stand as well, and it has held up admirably. It's not from Ikea, but it's the same kinda particle board deal. The drawer units to the left and right ARE Ikea, but they're only holding the speakers, so whatevs. And before this, my setup (minus the heavy amp, VCR, and equalizer) was on a legit $40 Ikea shelf that held it just fine, too. Before and after since moving into my bigger place just about a year ago.

I still like the coziness of this setup. Looking forward to seeing it post-move, though.

I like this. Nice and simple. What kind of speakers you got? I just added a turntable to my setup a few months ago because between the bigger speakers and the subwoofer, it seemed a shame not to have one.

I'd say it's more luck. I also think it depends on your location. Way more common out on the west coast. I live in New England and spent over a year calling and visiting local TV stations and studios to see if they had any to get rid of. This was about a decade ago and even then they had already trashed them. I tried pawn shops, estate sales, and I went to a surplus auction for a video/photo warehouse. Saw lots of cool shit, but no RGB monitors. Even had a friend who worked at local hospitals see if they had a stock of medical RGB CRTs stashed somewhere, but they, too, were long gone.

Eventually I found mine, for free, on craigslist, but it was total luck. I just happened to be browsing one morning while at work and caught a listing mere minutes after it went up from some guy with a privately-owned video editing company who only had the one monitor and hadn't used it in years. If you happen to live in an area that has some waiting to be unearthed, then yes, you can find cheap ones with a bit of hard work, but if they're not there, you won't find shit and you need to just hope to get lucky.

Several threads ago some sperg acted confused that people didn't leave their controllers plugged in and now it's become something hip to nitpick. Your battlestations need to be at a precise level of disarray; not messy enough for people to comment on your poor cable management, but not so clean that it looks like you never actually play anything.
