It's a Roguelike with a monster capture/fuse system.
There's a Ps1 version and a Gameboy Color version.
The Japanese version had voice acting.

The text in the English GBC version is more palatable than the Ps1, but you have to suffer the 2 lines of text and GBC graphics. Not that there's much of a story. The significance of "Azure Dreams" is kinda lost in translation. The Japanese title was "Other Life: Azure Dreams".

Every other Rouge-like I've ever played fucking sucks. But this is one of my favorite games of all time. Anymore that are actually high quality like this, and have more going on than the bare basics?

The GBC version was decent but the spiritual sequel on DS (Tao's Adventure) was fucking atrocious and sold really badly. Basically means we'll never see a sequel. Sucks.
