SMRPG is still his best portrayal to date. I didn't like how he was handled in TTYD and SPM back then either, but I've come around to it. His being one step behind Mario in the former isn't his fault given he doesn't have access to the magic map like he does, and he still ends up in the right place at the right time for the climax. He was fine in SPM, too, but suffered a little from cringe dialogue rewrites like "I've had egg salad sandwiches chunkier than this guy."<div class="xa23b"><span class="xa23t"></span><span class="xa23i"></span></div>

Mario's colors are correct, that's taken from the US cover of SMB2, and also from SMB1's japanese cover.
The overalls became blue in SMB2/USA, They were also blue overalls on Mario Bros. arcade, but red overalls on DK and DK Jr.
