I'm replaying it again right now.
The 3DS Dpad in combination with this game in particular actually kind of starts hurting my thumb after a while, so I kind of just play some every now and then.
It really is amazingly charming. If you went back five years and told me "One of your favorite platformers will be a game in which you can't die or game over, also it makes your thumb hurt."; I'd tell you to gtfo, but I guess with the basically puzzle solving and obstacle coursing, as well as the branching story paths, you get something really engaging, not even getting into the excellently cartoony tone.

I wish Nintendo would make a new Wario game which was about him going on some kind of treasure hunting adventure, it's been a while. Maybe they can include some of his Warioware posse as support or side characters or something. I'm really missing seeing him charge-tackle enemies, gathering loot and piles and piles of coins.

Wario's games are pretty great.
Wario Land is a pretty straight forward platformer like a Mario game, but with Wario's flavoring (there are various different hats which give you different abilities for attacking enemies and moving or interacting with the levels).
Very 'portable' sized, in that levels are fairly short and sweet, you can easily squeeze in a level or two if you're in a waiting room, or if you still have some time left after lunch.

Second game was in color, and has more of its own identity, instead of finding and using hats, and being able to die, now enemies can give you status effects, which allow you to do certain things and pass certain obstacles, and it gets nicely puzzled with that.
If you take a hit from other enemies, you lose coins, which you need for minigames, and thus treasures, and which affect the ending you get (and there's many branching paths in the game, which each give you their own ending). You'd also need to unveil a map to be able to get the final, pseudo-secret level.
In my opinion, Wario Land 2 is one of the very best games on the Gameboy Color, and one of the best portable games of the 90's.
