i have nearly 100 systems
the amount of work and bullshit involved keeping everything running is not worth it for most normies.

i don't mind replacing batteries, capacitors, and doing the occasional reversible mod to get better signal quality.

however, im not obsessed and stay within my means. a good rf modulation device or vcr is basically godtier for gen 2 and older.

almost ZERO signal noise.
fun quirk: the intellivision sends a retarded signal thats off-spec and confuses most modulators
fucking mattel.

a raspberry pi3 is cheap and mostly usable for most systems. MiSTer fags spend 150 or so and have godtier results. I haven't noticed any fuckups in emulation-land.

for the systems that are basically not emulatable; cdi, 3do, jaguar, n64, saturn, etc
having the legit hardware is quite a luxury.
