My retro gaming set up is an old Thinkpad X220 outputting to my CRT. Would I get any signifcant benefit to buying a Mister and using that instead of an old PC? What's the cheapest Mister build?

Anyone else find this thing to be a pain in the ass when using it on a TV as opposed to a PC monitor or CRT? It's a real crapshoot on which weird refresh rates will be supported by your TV or not. For me, everything works perfectly in low lag vsync_adjust=2 mode without any issues, except fucking SNES and NES with their stupid 60.1hz refresh rates which won't accept anything other than stuttery vsync_adjust=0

I wish the neckbeards and sex perverts working on this shit would implement a feature like Kevtris's "zero delay" mode on the Super NT which just slows down the clock rate to a perfect 60hz without any tearing or stuttering.

Oh well, still happy to have Gameboy/GBA/Genesis/PC Engine and eventually Saturn and PS1 on here. Guess I'll be continuing my FF6 run on BSNES though.

So I honestly almost pulled the trigger on this for my crt setup before coming here and seeing all the shit talk over this, is it really that bad? What's a better crt setup?

Just go ahead and join the MiSTer crew, why buy something that's possibly 38 years old and risk it not working when you can buy something just as good brand new. Get a bliss box with it and use OG controllers if you want. If price is an issue just emulate, either way stop supporting resellers that ruined the hobby.
