I'm doing the same thing and bought a bunch of those mini consoles too.
It's not expensive and I don't see the point in collecting fragile devices anymore, especially when obtaining games for them is so expensive, and the inflated prices for everdrives. I'm also getting the Genesis and the Turbo Grafix, pretty excited about those because I never owned them, I'm from 93.

Surprisingly my girlfriend is pretty cool about collecting, she started collecting PS2 games and bought her own PS2 recently, so I've infected her a little.
She wants me to buy a CRT but I don't really see the need to except for maybe better output for my N64 and PS2.

Retro is anything that I have some sort of particular positive memory of the past associated with, especially as representative of larger past trends. To put it simply, retro is about nostalgia but "false nostalgia" can even be about recognizing good things that have passed.
