It's a nice midway point between MV/Classic. I only recently played it and it's funny to get dogpiled by autistic ariafags for whatever reason. Aria is awesome too btw.

You can play any but i'd recommend looking into romhacks that fix any issues some of them have like COTM or Dawn of Sorrow for instance.
Avoid CV2 and HoD to begin with though.
