Good review. Most emulators run through cores, but they want to include standalone version in time that would make N64 perform better. As for the dpad I think this guy would agree since he is so into fighting games https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRE5ulofJOY&t=3307s would slicing a bit the sides in contact with the dpad ease the issue? The dev also suggested putting some padding on the L2/R2 to push the buttons with less effort.
