9's level progression is definitely more deliberate and finely tuned. It somehow feels classic and new at the same time.

Personally i'm a sucker for broken ass combinations with an immediate pay off so my pick would be for 7 just because its so fun and simple. Not the deepest system mind you, just the most satisfying. It makes me feel like I'm playing with action figures with lots of accessories.

I disagree, that button combo can and was hit on accident at least 2 times to me and my circle of friends. The reset button on the console is not that far away.

Developers (or any business for that matter) often have the mentality of "if it aint hot, fresh and new the kids wont want it" Which isn't really the case. Kids want to play what the older kids are playing/watching much like the genesis days.

I remember all the older kids/dads owned 007 and similar action movies so when the game came out everybody bought the damn thing.

In all honesty it could have been based on anything but being from specifically a well known action movie knocked it out of the park.
