Did any game do the invulnerability-based gameplay thing before WL2?
Post examples of other interesting/subversive gameplay mechanics too if you feel like it.

So what's with the Unity port on PS4 anyway? It's accurate insofar as gameplay and rendering, but I have some complaints:
>can't rebind my fucking controls, MUST use the mushy fucking R2 shoulder button for firing
>movement feels stiffer than it should, I don't know how to describe it
>lowest gamma setting is still goddamn ZDaemon gamma, this can be dealt with or even fit with a CRT screen (like in 1993), but with a fat 4k flatscreen TV it makes the game look washed out like crazy
>the music sounds kind of shit, I don't care for the soundfont they used (if it's supposed to be an SC-55, it doesn't sound like it in TNT)
>why can't they just add proper .mus/.midi support and then give people a couple of options for soundfonts, it'd cut filesize dramatically to boot

The new port of Doom 64, however, feels good as fuck in controls (which it lets me rebind as I see fit). iD, please take a page from Nightdive here.

I like WL a lot, and I do consider WL2 one of the best games ever made.
Shame we don't have those kinds of Wario games anymore. Ashley is too adorable though.

Mario's crooked cousin, who initially was a villain for him to defeat, but then kind of just turned into his own thing, a crude and greedy treasurehunter.
I'd almost like to call him a villain protagonist, but most of the people he steal from are villains in their own right. They play the greed angle in a fun way.

Has there ever been a Wario game that was actually bad, honestly?

Running through 1 atm, a bathroom break here, a waiting room there. Really comfy to play in short bursts intermittently.

2 is my fucking jam though

>played 3 and didn't liked at all.
WL3 is an acquired taste. You start out with most of your abilities unavailable, which means the start is pretty slow. However the day/night cycle, highly explorative level design, and Wario Golf all make for a fun time. Then there's the time attack mode where you have to collect all four notes in a stage with all your abilities already unlocked- that's even more fun than the main game in my opinion. Most people love it because it's the most "Metroidvania"-style Wario game.
